HAW Pitch: Paths to Professorship at Universities of Applied Sciences

In the panel “UAS careers in Germany”, members of the UAS7 and HAfM networks of universities of applied sciences networks will show you what requirements – in addition to a willingness to innovate and a practical orientation – you need to bring with you for a professorship. However, the representatives will also show you what programmes and ways there are to support your ability to become a professor and inform you about what it might look like for a PostDoc who os currently working in research and what funding opportunities exist for qualification. The representatives will also inform about the special framework conditions at UAS- intensive exchange with students, strong links with society and business, international orientation, compatibility of family and career – but also about the expectations from the perspective of the university management. Afterwards, professors who already teach and research at universities of applied sciences will give insights into their specific career path to their university of applied sciences in moderated talks. They will talk about their experiences on their career paths and answer all your questions.
