GAIN internship opportunity

We are currently accepting applications for a summer internship with the German Academic International Network (GAIN) at the DAAD New York office, starting between May 1 and June 1 to September 15 or 30, 2023.

The internship involves assisting with organizing the 23rd Annual GAIN Conference of international mobile researchers from Germany – the largest forum for PhD students, postdocs, and professors currently researching abroad. A significant portion of the conference consists of a large career fair and workshop program with over 70 institutions from all areas of the German research landscape represented. This year’s conference will take place at the end of August in Boston.

Duties will entail a wide spectrum of tasks from helping with web site content www.gain-network.org, social media activity as well as organizational and planning activities for the annual conference.

We are looking for applicants who

• Are fluent in English and have strong German language skills
• Have an interest in higher education and science policy
• Are highly organized and detail oriented and enjoy being part of a small team
• Prior experience with event planning is a plus

We accept applicants who are interested in a virtual internship as well as an internship in our New York office or a combination of both.

Applicants must have a valid US work permit. We cannot sponsor a visa.

Interns will receive a stipend of $1500/month.
