HAW Pitch: Paths to Professorship at Universities of Applied Sciences
Thousands of professorships at Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) will become vacant in the next few years. In the panel UAS careers in Germany we will show you what requirements – in addition to a willingness to innovate and a practical orientation you need to bring with you for a professorship. However, we will also show you which programs and ways there are to support your ability to become a professor. We will address very specifically what a career path at an UAS7 might look like for a PostDoc currently working in research and what funding opportunities exist for qualification. We will inform about the special framework conditions at UAS – intensive exchange with students, strong links with society and business, international orientation, compatibility of family and career – but also the expectations from the point of view of university management. Subsequently, international testimonials already teaching will talk about their paths to an UAS and their experiences there.
