The Tenure-Track Professorship in Germany
With the Tenure-Track Programme, the German Federal Government and the Länder currently make decisive changes to university personnel structures in Germany. With a total of 1,000 tenure-track professorships funded at 75 universities nationwide, the program permanently establishes an internationally known career path, thus triggering a structural and cultural change at German universities. The workshops offer the opportunity to exchange ideas with funded tenure-track professors and leaders from the university side, to find out more about the internationally attractive career path of the German tenure-track professorship. The focus will be on the benefits of the tenure-track professorship in Germany as well as on questions regarding the application and appointment process, the status and progress of tenure-track professorships, and the compatibility of family and career.
