Hochschule Bielefeld (HSBI)

Founded in 1971, Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences was one of the first universities of applied sciences to be established in Germany. With over 10,000 students and more than 900 staff at its three campuses in Bielefeld, Minden and Gütersloh, it is one of the larger universities of applied sciences in Germany. HSBI has six faculties: Design and Art, Minden Campus, Engineering and Mathematics, Social Sciences, Bielefeld School of Business, and Health. As a cosmopolitan university, it aims to prepare students for professional and managerial positions as well as academic careers, a principle deeply rooted in its self-image and reflected in all areas of the university. HSBI is committed to making a responsible contribution to social development through its teaching and research, particularly in its regional context. Sustainability is a central focus of teaching, research and knowledge transfer activities. Internationality is identified as a key strategic pillar of HSBI.
